Hello NC AAOP Members!
I hope this newsletter finds you all well and energized. We have had an exciting few months with developments that are setting the stage for a bright future for our chapter. Here's a look at some of our recent successes and upcoming opportunities.
State Meeting Success
In 2024 we had an excellent state meeting that exceeded our expectations in both attendance and outcomes. The connections we forged are already proving invaluable, helping us strengthen our network and amplify our impact across North Carolina. Your participation and enthusiasm were crucial, and we're excited to see these new relationships grow and support our goals.
Engagement with State Legislature
I want to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Robinson and Dana Glover for their leadership in our outreach and engagement efforts with the State Legislature. Their dedication is paving the way for meaningful dialogue and collaboration with policymakers. Our goal is to ensure that the voices and needs of the O&P community are heard and addressed, leading to positive changes and support for our profession.
Important Decision: Transitioning to NC O&P Association
As we approached the renewal period with the National AAOP in 2024, we decided to unjoin the AAOP and become an association. This change more fully encompasses the evolving landscape of O&P in North Carolina, allowing us to increase membership and form strategic partnerships with organizations like UNC, NCSU, healthcare associations, and biotech companies.
Such a transition bolsters our efforts in outreach and engagement, providing a broader platform for collaboration and innovation.
